So I’m working on a film/tv project that I can’t tell you much about; ya, the one I’ve been cryptically telling you about for like a month now. And I’m not trying to be mysterious…I literally can’t tell you about it until it drops. Plus I always think I’m good at being mysterious, and I am not. But for this project, I had some new mastering done to the tracks because I wanted them to be really good. And I liked them so much, that I decided to have Collections II and Our Dreams are Made of Rain remastered as well.
I’m very pleasantly surprised with how they turned out, and feel as if this is closer to my original vision for these melodies and atmospheres. So starting tonight at midnight, both these albums go free, for 24(ish) hours. Maybe more. Because I would like all of you who enjoy this music and bought the original albums, to be able to have the new editions for free. Each track is remixed and remastered, and while still retaining that darker recorded feel that I am fond of, they now stand out and grab you just a bit more. The download links are the same, but every track has been replaced.

A precursor to the brand new music for the soundtrack to be released very, very soon.
This past December, I made all my music free for the whole month. I was blown away by the amount of you who still paid for it, and paid above and beyond for it. Half of the proceeds of whatever you did pay going to help a homeless charity in Santa Monica.
So to say thank you, I promised that my next project would start off free. And it’s here. Collections II is the new EP, with work that I am really proud of. It’s a bit of a departure and more experimental than I’ve released before, led off by a 38-minute track comprised of three improvisational guitar takes layered on top of each other.
Thank you all for your continued support, and I hope this music says thanks in a small way. If you would, you can say thanks to me by following me on Twitter and liking my Facebook Page. This really helps my career, and helps me keep producing music. And anyone who is following me there learned about this EP a few days early, too. Thanks everyone!
Happy December 1st! I have ambient (or post-rock without the drums, new age with guitars, one note with delay pedals, etc.) Christmas music for you.
- Each December, I release ‘The World in Green & Red‘, an ambient EP that has new songs on it each Christmas. So it’s out! It will be available until New Year’s Day.
- Also, to say merry Christmas, both albums of ambient pads are free this month to support all churches and non-profits this holiday season.
- And lastly, out of all sales for the month of December, half goes to families in need.
So…I’ve been using my Facebook Music Page so much, that I sort of forgot I had a website. For more up to date news, follow me here or here:
But while you’re here, I did just release a brand new album that I’m actually excited about, maybe for the first time ever. It started as a project composing for a film, and then turned into a very personal session of songwriting. So I’m very pleased to share with you, Our Dreams are Made of Rain.
(Cityscape is actually a free track within the album…to say thanks to all you guys.)
The new album is up and ready for download. It’s called ‘The Morning We Wake’, and I hope it brings you all the joy an ambient chorus of guitars can. Available at:
This is a dual album, with 14 tracks spanning 80 minutes, with all tracks available individually. With the purchase of the full album, you also get a second album; it’s the entire first album on one track, with extra compositions that modulate each song into the next for 80 minutes of non-stop music. It should be on iTunes shortly, but there are some timing issues (like, 80 minute songs, I think). Thus far, I am liking Bandcamp’s independent vibe.
Recorded simply, using vintage techniques. Meaning, no post-effects; everything you hear was exactly what came out of the amp. I’m experimenting with doing things this way. Gives it more of a ‘live’ or ‘in the room with you’ feel.
Thank you so much for your support. I understand that this isn’t the greatest thing ever, but it was recorded using delay, which just so happens to actually be the greatest thing ever. I don’t know what’s going to happen with this music, if anything. But if nothing else, it’s really kept me alive this past year.
Okay, okay…here’s the actual promo’s. Gotta keep a sense of humour about yourself. 😉
